PARTNERSHIPS & SUPPORT

Business leaders, government ministries, and academic authorities, all are an integral part of the Pacem In Terris program. In fact, the Pacem In Terris shield features three fleurs-de-lis to represent the integral role these three sectors - business, government, and education - play in the advancement of the program.

Each sector is involved in choosing the international students who will study at Pacem In Terris … in providing input into the design and content of Pacem In Terris courses so that students can glean the most benefit for themselves and their countries… in providing internship and employment opportunities for Pacem In Terris students … and in supporting the program in fiscal and non-fiscal ways.

For example:

  • Pacem In Terris is working closely with the United States Agency for International Development in its effort to support the transition to free-market economies and political pluralism in the Middle East and Africa.
  • Pacem In Terris also is studying the possibility of collaborative efforts with Catholic Relief Services to develop a program that will prepare students to become employees of that agency in their homelands.
  • Equatorial Guinea contributed a $2 million endowment to support Pacem In Terris students from that nation.
  • New agreements with international ministries are including provisions that will allow American students to participate in a variety of internships abroad.
Because there are many roads that lead to peace, Pacem In Terris partnerships can take any number of forms. The Pacem In Terris staff is open to exploring partnership opportunities with governments, foundations, businesses, and individuals interested in furthering the mission of peace ( see "Support Opportunities" ).
